Though our partnership with AutoGrab we are able to supply a series of API products that offer a real time market valuation for a specific vehicle or a type of vehicle.
Find your vehicle in the AutoGrab Catalogue
AutoGrab has developed a vehicle information catalogue that allows you to source a unique ID for a vehicle type (down to the series, fuel, model year and body type level) along with some specification information.
This unique vehicle ID allows you to assign your products and services to a vehicle and benefit from our plate lookup service.
A view of the type of information we can currently provide is as follows:
"vehicle": {"id":"9767814478751932","region":"nz","title":"2023 HYUNDAI SANTA FE TM Series II MY22 Elite PHEV Wagon 7st 5dr Sports Shift 6sp AWD 1.6i/67kW Hybrid","year":"2023","make":"Hyundai","model":"Santa Fe","badge":"Elite PHEV","series":"TM Series II","model_year":"MY22","release_month":8,"release_year":2018,"body_type":"Wagon","body_config":null,"transmission":"Sports Automatic","transmission_type":"Automatic","wheelbase":null,"wheelbase_type":null,"fuel":"Hybrid-Petrol","fuel_type":"Hybrid-Petrol","engine":"Hybrid","engine_type":"Hybrid","drive":"AWD","drive_type":"Four Wheel Drive","num_doors":5,"num_seats":7,"num_gears":6,"num_cylinders":4,"capacity_cc":1598,"power_kw":132,"torque_nm":265,"range":null,```
We have a few ways of finding a specific vehicle:
AutoGrab Vehicle Search by Plate
AutoGrab Vehicle Search by VIN
Alternatively you can describe the vehicle
AutoGrab Vehicle Search by Text
Or have your customer identify the vehicle based on its facets (year, make, model etc) which can be presented to them via our Facets API.
AutoGrab Facet
AutoGrab Facet Search
For more information on these APIs please refer to our developer documentation:
Market Valuation can be used to determine a vehicles' present retail and wholesale (trade) values.
Note: A Vehicle ID returned from the Vehicle Search API or Vehicle Facet API is required to use the Market Valuation API.
How is a valuation provided?
AutoGrab captures the asking prices and specification information such as the vehicle’s year, make, model, and variant from private sellers and dealers across Australia. It excludes government charges but includes GST, assuming the vehicles are in good condition and fitted with standard OEM accessories.
Leveraging advanced machine learning and updated weekly, the pricing integrates active listings and recently delisted data from public marketplaces. AutoGrab emphasises the most recent data to deliver comprehensive valuations that reflect current market trends.
Each estimate includes a confidence score, which indicates AutoGrab’s certainty in the valuation. Two key factors determine this score:
The number of vehicles listed in the past 365 days for the specific vehicle type
A detailed accuracy analysis of the pricing algorithm for that vehicle type
The confidence score ranges from 0 to 1, with 1 representing the highest confidence level.
As a general guide, the following can be applied to the confidence score:
High Confidence (e.g., >0.8): The valuation model is highly certain about the estimated retail value, supported by a large dataset and strong model accuracy
Medium Confidence (e.g., 0.5–0.8): The prediction is reasonable but may require additional validation due to a smaller sample size or price volatility.
Low Confidence (e.g., <0.5): The prediction is uncertain, often due to limited data availability or high market volatility. This can occur with vehicles that are particularly old or rare but does not mean that the valuation is not accurate.
Availability
Our Market valuation is available:
On our AutoReport Plus report as a data pack
As a stand alone API (in conjunction with Vehicle Search)
Listing History (in development)
The Vehicle History API allows you to access historical lead listing data from a variety of used car marketplaces.
Ever wondered how much a vehicle has sold for in the past? Or if it’s listed across multiple sites in Australia? Maybe even if the vehicle has been historically reduced in price?
Well, the new Listing History product can provide just that!
Our listing history product covers a number of online marketplaces such as GumTree, AutoTrader and Facebook and can provide information such as:
Date listed
Site listed
Seller type
Odometer
Price (and price movements)
We believe this information can give dealers an edge in trade in negotiations and also help Insurers and Finance companies detect fraudulent activity.
An example of the Listing History payload (TBC) including the sourcing data pack is as follows:
