# AutoID

Auto ID is primarily a product for the insurance sector and allows an insurer to identify basic vehicle information, plus the related Glass’s NVIC or Redbook Code (licence required), simply by entering the vehicle’s plate and state (or VIN) into the MWAU system.

The AutoID makes sales quoting faster and easier and can dramatically improve the web experience for online customers, as well as simplifying the process for call centre staff.

Online customers no longer must go through the frustrating and time-consuming chore of trying to select their vehicle from among numerous models, generations, and grades. The customer can now quickly and easily generate an online insurance quotation by simply entering their registration number and state to identify the correct vehicle. This means improved efficiencies and reduced costs, higher online quotation completion rates, improved sales performance, and more accurate identification of the insured risk.

The API returns the following information via API or via the MotorWeb portal:
