Portal Reports and APIs
These reports are MotorWeb's traditional reports that rely heavily on government agency information. They are widely used across the Vehicle Dealer, Finance, Insurance and Parts industries.
Vehicle Information Report (VIR)
API & Portal
MotorWeb’s most comprehensive report offering extensive NZTA, ownership, financial interest and vehicle specification information.
Primarily used by our dealer customers
AssetCheck
API & Portal
The same as the VIR however it also includes Redbook code information
Primarily used by our finance and insurance customers
MotorCheck
API & Portal
Comprehensive report many many features of the VIR however it does not have historical information nor financial security information
Motor Check + RedBook
API
The same as the Motor Check report however it also includes Redbook code information
Basic Vehicle Information (BVI)
API & Portal
A further subset of the Motor Check report providing the key information about a vehicle
Advanced Vehicle Check
API
This API provides, Vehicle specification information, Odometer history, Fuel economy, CO2 emissions, Pollutants and Safety Ratings
ChassisCheck
API & Portal
A further subset of the Motor Check report providing the key information about a vehicle
Chassis Check + RedBook
API
The same as the Chassis Check report however it also includes Redbook code information
Chassis Check + RedBook valuation by plate/vin
API
Provides the Redbook retail and wholesale valuations for a particular vehicle (as opposed to the Redbook code)
Current Owner Check
API
Provides information on the current owner of the vehicle
Driver check
API
Checks that a licence is valid, current, what classes it is applicable for.
Licence Verification
API
Confirm that a licence number matches a current New Zealand driver's licence. If the number (and version) matches then other identity details provided are matched against that physical licence.
Driver Check Plus
API
Check that a licence is valid, current, what classes it is applicable for, and much more. In addition, this transaction allows a date of birth to be checked against the specified driver licence.
Confirm Owner
API
Confirms whether the personal information provided matches the owner of the vehicle. Note variants.
Please note that access to vehicle ownership information and drivers license information requires the respective approval from NZTA.
Market Data & MotorWeb Vehicle Catalogue APIs
MotorWeb also provides a series of APIs that can provide information based on Market Data (pricing and listing information) and vehicle specification information that MotorWeb has researched.
Vehicle Search by Plate
API
Returns a unique vehicle ID and specifications for a given plate. Confidence score for the match is also provided.
Vehicle Search by VIN
API
Returns a unique vehicle ID and specifications for a given VIN. Confidence score for the match is also provided.
Vehicle Search by Text
API
Returns a unique vehicle ID and specifications for a text string. Confidence score for the match is also provided.
Market Valuation
API
Provides a market valuation for the vehicle as identified by the vehicle ID from one of the above searches. Also takes into account the odometer.
Facet
API
Provides information on the years, makes, models and badges available in the catalogue. Ideal as a dynamic dropdown option for your website or application.

API
Returns a unique vehicle ID and specifications based on the facets provided
Listing History
API
Searches for current and historical listing information for a vehicle. Can also provide information on listing price changes.
Data Packs
Data Packs are additional sets of information that can be optionally included in certain MotorWeb reports.
