# MotorCheck

MotorCheck is a comprehensive report that provides a subset of the information on a VIR with no history or securities.

It should be noted that customers must have S241 access granted by NZTA in order to access vehicle ownership information.  MotorWeb utilises information from NZTA to determine if access has been granted.

The specificReason API parameter is also required that details the reason for accessing the information.  This reason is text supplied by the customer however should conform with the specific reasons specified in their gazette notice.

MotorCheck can be considered the younger sibling of our more extensive VIR report and is presented in a number of sections.

This report is available via the MotorWeb Portal and via API and is presented in a variety of sections.

### Alerts and Information

This summary section will show anything that we believe is of concern or needs checking about the vehicle.  We will also show some summary information for areas that are generally important to know.

> Please note that MotorCheck does NOT include a check of the PPSR for financial securities

### Current Details

The current details section shows the current owner and the latest odometer.

Please note that you will only be able to see Private Owner information for the current owner (businesses will be shown) if your S241 access allows it.

The registration and licence section shows vehicle compliance information such as

* Registration
* Road User Charges (RUC)
* Warrant of Fitness (WoF)
* Licence
* Certificate of Fitness (CoF) if applicable
